Early Years Vouchers recently featured in The Sunday Times in an article on the childcare voucher benefit.
Both parents can claim vouchers, which can be used until the September 1 after their child's 15th birthday. Amanda Ward at Early Years Vouchers, a provider, said "The money will accrue in an online account and can be used once the mother goes back to work." The value of the voucher can be split between different forms of childcare.
Ward said: "While the self-employed cannot claim vouchers, if the parent is a company director they can qualify for the scheme so long as vouchers are made available to all their staff."
