Employer Benefits

An increasing number of employers offer Tax and NI free childcare vouchers to their employees as part of their employee benefits packages. This allows existing, new and returning employees the opportunity to save on their childcare costs. The allowance is set at £55 per week (£243.00 per month) per employee for the 2008/9 tax year.

A 20% tax paying employee can save up to £903.96 per year and a 40% can save up to £1195.56. The voucher amount is deducted from gross pay before Tax and NI are applied.

The scheme is easy to set up and administer and comes in two forms, Standard or Gold package, depending on the level of service you require. The cost is minimal, starting at 5% of voucher value, and more than offset by the savings in employer NI contributions.

You can register for the Standard service immediately online using the Employer registration page. The system is automated and instructions are provided at every stage to make it easy to administer and issue vouchers.
